In many places on Goeree-Overflakkee, your dog is just as welcome as you are. Apart from the North Sea beaches, the island also has some inland beaches on the Grevelingen, the Haringvliet and the Krammer Volkerak. The rules per beach and per season may vary.

In the bathing season

The bathing season runs from 1 May to 1 October. During this period, you can take your dog to the following beaches on a leash during the day (between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.). On many beaches, you can go for an evening walk with your dog and the best part is that he can run free. Check all free beaches where your dog can run free in the bathing season in the evening after 19.00 and in the morning before 10.00.

Out of season

Outside the bathing season (from 1 October to 30 April), you can take your dog to the beach both during the day and in the evening. And the best part? Your dog is allowed to run loose on almost all beaches then. Check the off-leash beaches outside the bathing season.

On a leash all year round

There are a few exceptions. The Westelijke Havendijk beach is a dog beach. At Kabbelaarsbank beach, De Punt beach and dagstrand Slikken van Flakkee, you can take your dog on a leash all year round. At the beach Kwade Hoek, Vuurtoren and Vrijheidsduinpad, you can take your four-legged friend on a leash all year round on some parts of the beach and on some parts dogs are not allowed at all. This is indicated on site.
