Oude-Tonge
Ooltgensplaat is a cosy village with a rich history that dates back to the 15th century. In 1481, the grass-covered clay plate of the same name was allowed to be reclaimed and made suitable for habitation. Today, the village still contains a number of historic buildings. The most striking in Ooltgensplaat is the Voorstraat, a street with many national monuments. The Old Council House, overlooking Ooltgensplaat's harbour, dates from 1616 and is the oldest building of its kind in Goeree-Overflakkee.
