The Germans built many bunkers on Goeree-Overflakkee during the Second World War. Hidden in the dunes near the recreation area De Punt in Ouddorp, a complete bunker complex has been preserved. You can discover this impressive piece of history via a walking route. The approx. 1.5 km route takes you past no fewer than 15 bunkers, telling you all about these defences against overseas invasions.

Hidden in nature
This bunker complex was built by the Germans as a defence against a possible invasion from the sea. After the war, most bunkers disappeared under the sand, overgrown by brambles. A group of volunteers from the WO2GO foundation excavated the complex a few years ago, resulting in a walking route of about one kilometre along the various bunkers.
