Filmhuis | Eat More Trees
Every year, we lose 24 billion tonnes of fertile soil worldwide. That’s the equivalent of 30 football pitches every minute. If we continue to farm as we do today, we are literally pulling the rug out from under our food system. The film shows how things can be done differently.
The focus is on Yannick Schoonhoven and her husband, in Spain, where they are attempting to restore 1,100 hectares of degraded land. The central question is, in fact: can we produce food in a way that does not deplete the soil and nature, but actually restores them? In 2026, the documentary received several awards.
