Nature tour with lecture at Portlantis

Come to Portlantis on Sunday 24 May (Whit Monday) for an inspiring afternoon. During a lecture and bus tour, you will see for yourself how port development and nature go hand in hand. This event is your chance to discover nature in the port and hear how the Port of Rotterdam Authority is working on restoring the South Holland Delta, increasing biodiversity and a future-proof, nature-inclusive port.

Guided by ecologist Roland-Jan Buijs, an experienced ecologist and internationally recognised seagull expert, you will visit, among other places, the Bird Valley and the viewpoint at the Slufter across the Slikken van Voorne. Places that normally pass many people by, but where nature and industry come together impressively. You will go home with new insights, wonder and a fresh perspective on nature in the port. Programme:
14.00 - 14.45: lecture by Port of Rotterdam Authority
14.45 - 15.00: to the bus
15.00 - 16.15: guided tour led by ecologist Roland-Jan Buijs
16.15 - 16.30: walk-out / return to Portlantis and end of programme.
