Spider and insect excursion NP Oosterschelde

David's fascination arose from his fear of itchy critters and now he is one of the Netherlands' leading spider experts and, among other things, admin for this group at Waarneming. David not only knows where you can find which species, but he also knows how to tell you something special about each one, which might make you enthusiastic about itchy bugs. This walking excursion takes place in the Schelphoek, a 10-minute drive from PiXLife. The Schelphoek is a creek area managed by the Forestry Commission. It offers a rich diversity of biotopes: fresh and salt, open area and forest. We are open to everything, but some species we expect are: Cucumber spider, Vale wheelweb spider and Kraamweb spider.

This excursion takes place in cooperation with Oosterschelde National Park: from 9 to 31 May, the National Parks are organising a Species Challenge. The aim is to gain insight into the species living in the National Park as well as to introduce residents and interested parties to the countless plant and animal species living in NP Oosterschelde.
