Lieutenant T.E. Lawrence (O'Toole) leads an unexciting existence in Cairo during WWI, until, because of his interest in the locals, he comes into conversation with the Arab prince Feisal (Guinness), who opposes the Ottoman forces. Against all odds, Lawrence manages to form a fighting force from the rival Arab tribes and deal the Turks some heavy blows. Monumental epic, beautifully photographed, big stars on top form and a rock-solid script. Seven Oscars, including for best film and best direction. Widely regarded as a highlight of cinema history.
