Play Hei joe ut al gehoord
Due to its great success, the Streekmuseum's theatre group will return in October 2026 with the play: Hei joe ut al gehoord?; a play that brings to life the history and culture of the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. In this play, the audience takes a leap to the year 1964, a time of great changes.
The construction of the iconic Haringvliet Bridge turned the lives of islanders upside down. The play zooms in on the impact of this historic event: are islanders excited about the new connection to the mainland, or do they value their isolation more? The dynamics between the "overlanders" and the islanders are intriguingly highlighted.

The story takes place at the lie bench and on a birthday, where the clashes and differences between the two worlds become painfully clear. Yet love unexpectedly brings connection and harmony, but the big question is: will granny, with her sharp tongue throw a spanner in the works?
A unique mix of history and humour This play offers a wonderful insight into an important period of South Holland's history. With humour, emotion and recognisable characters on the lie-flat, the cast brings a compelling story that will appeal to audiences of all ages.
