Insect safari: discover the world of itchy creatures

Join an insect safari and discover a world full of itchy bugs! Around the PiXLife building, it is bursting with little life in spring and summer. Together with an experienced nature guide, we go on this safari to admire all those insects up close.

Armed with special (insect-friendly) landing nets, we wander through the tall grass in search of beetles, grasshoppers and other small crawlers. The insects we find are temporarily put in insect jars so we can look at them in peace. Using search cards, children (and adults) learn how to recognise and name insects.

What are we going to discover?

• What kind of insect is this exactly?
• Why does a grasshopper jump so far?
• Why does a bug smell?
• And what actually makes insects so important for nature?

At the end of the excursion, we will of course release all critters safely back into their own habitat.

A playful, educational and adventurous excursion where curiosity is key!

For whom?

• Children aged 6 and over are welcome under the supervision of a parent. From 8 years onwards, children can also go on the adventure on their own.
• Parents of children aged 8 and over do not have to come along and can enjoy a drink in our nature café in the meantime.
• As the excursion takes place around the building, as a parent you only pay for your child(ren) if you do not join in yourself.
• Adults who want to join the excursion without children are of course also welcome; however, they must register and pay.

• Clothing recommendation: long trousers and closed shoes
